About
THE LIVING ROOM — VOL. 4: ON FRIENSHIP. The Living Room, Vol. 4 — On Friendship. We talk so much about romantic love. Who we choose, who chooses us, who stays, who leaves. But some of the greatest loves of our lives are friendships. The people who knew versions of us that no longer exist. The ones we outgrow. The ones we find later than we thought we would. The friendships that survive distance, change and silence — and the ones that don't. For our fourth Living Room, we're sitting down to talk about friendship. How we choose our people. What we owe each other. Why some friendships feel like home. Why others quietly end. And what it actually means to be a good friend. No experts. No right answers. Just a room of people, telling the truth to each other, one topic at a time. Thursday, 8 October | 7:30 PM 📍 Bocasu, Al Quoz Free entry · Special bites & drinks offered Limited spots. Come have the conversations your soul needs. What It Is The Living Room is a gathering, led and curated by Sarah Janabi, built entirely around the oldest human ritual there is: sitting down together and truly listening. Just people, in a room, telling the truth to each other, the way families do once the noise of the day has gone quiet. What It's Really For The Living Room is built to give you back something most of adult life quietly takes away, the feeling of being fully listened to, by strangers who, by the end of the night, don't feel like strangers anymore. The Home Base Diary The Home Base Diary opens every night, moves around the room where you take a few quiet minutes, write down whatever the night has left in you so far, and pass it on. A line someone said that's still sitting with you, a feeling that caught you off guard, a thought that only exists because you were in that room, on that night, with those people. The Diary moves from Living Room to Living Room, carrying every night inside it. And every time the room gathers again, a few entries from before are read aloud first, pages from someone else's night, spoken back into the room before the next one begins.
I can't wait to welcome you home. With love,
Sarah Janabi
